"slapping dancers" dance. I bet you don't know what slapping dance is, find out from the video.
"The sleepy little historical hometown, Sarospatak, where I was born and raised.
Sarospatak is a town in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, northern Hungary. It lies 70 kilometers (43 miles) northeast from Miskolc, in the Bodrog river valley. The town often called simply Patak, is an important cultural center. Sárospatak was elevated to the rank of free royal town by King Sigismund. In 1460, during the reign of King Matthias, it received the right to hold a market. The first Protestant college, one of the most important colleges of Hungary at the time, was founded in Sárospatak in 1531.
Today Sárospatak is a charming historical town and a popular tourist destination."~Wikipedia
Budapest is the capital of Hungary and a truly beautiful city.
"Budapest is cited as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, ranked as "the world's second best city" by Condé Nast Traveler, and "Europe's 7th most idyllic place to live" by Forbes. Among Budapest's important museums and cultural institutions, the most visited art museum is the Museum of Fine Arts, which is noted for one of the largest collections of all periods of European art and comprises more than 100,000 pieces."~Wikipedia
Eger is a beautiful historical city.
"After the Battle of Mohács (1526) a sorrowful period began in the history of Eger. During the dual kingship the town changed hands almost every year and the Turkish army came closer as well. This circumstance provided the reason for reinforcing the fortress. In the autumn of 1552, Captain István Dobó and his handful of soldiers were successful in defending the fortress and northern Hungary from the expanding Turkish Empire."~Wikipedia
Have you heard of slapping dancers? Now you can see Hungarian men doing it
What a beautiful place to hail from, Erika. It is a place full of beauty and culture. I have to add this place on my bucket list. Thank you for taking us on a virtual tour today.
it is worth a visit Lorraine. A beautiful country with friendly, welcoming people. Be prepared to gain a few pounds, though. Wherever you go in Hungary, people will feed you, and the food is delicious :)
+Erika M Szabo I want to go to Croatia so I will go there as it's not far. Yes, I think Hungarian food is similar to Croat food. My grandma was a wonderful cook. That's what I love about Europe.
